Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris returned from a six-match suspension to play for Lorient in their 0-0 stalemate with Nantes in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday night.
The 24-year-old was hit with a long term ban by the French Ligue 1 regulatory body for his kung-fu tackle on Guingamp striker Jimmy Briand, and he missed all six league games by Lorient since.
But after returning to action in Lorient's 3-0 Coupe de la Ligue win over Dijon, the former Trabzonspor forward held down his place in Sylvain Ripoll's squad as they were held to a 0-0 draw Nantes.
Waris came close to scoring the only goal of the game for Lorient in the 81st minute, but he missed narrowly.
