The General Secretary of the Ghana Paralympics Association(GPA) Mr.Ignatius Elletey, has told sportscrusader.com about their zeal to improve their representation in the upcoming Paralympics games in Rio this year.
He said “it is very important for us to improve our representation in the upcoming games is very essential to the growth of the sports, especially in the various categories we have targeted which includes power-lifting, para-cycling,cannoning and athletics”.
He also emphasized about their readiness for the participation towards the series of upcoming qualifiers across Africa from February to June but he also stated about the massive help they received from government during the previous games in London but he pleaded with corporate Ghana to come on board to support the sports as part of their corporate social responsibility.
Ghana who only sent 5-athletes each in the category of athletics, para cycling, cannoning and power lifting will have to improve on their game to stand any chances of qualifying for the Olympics games in Rio 2016.
