Who Gets Malam's Nod For FA Boss?

The issue of who receives the nod of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Malam Yusuf Ali Issa to become the Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) would be known today when soccer administrators and officials converge at the plush Accra International Conference Centre for the GFA congress .

The Constitution of the GFA mandates the Minister for Youth and Sports to nominate two people to the Executive council of the GFA.

The two candidates would then be chosen via voting by the executive council of the GFA to fill the positions of GFA Chairman and Executive Member respectively.

Although the Malam has kept his nominations close to his chest, Chronicle can reveal that two names, that of Alhaji M.N.D Jawula, the immediate past GFA Chairman and Mr. Kojo Quarshie, a relatively unknown sportsman seem to be in poll position for the job.

Even though the odds favour Alhaji Jawula in terms of his relative experience at the job and also his close association with the CAF hierarchy, Quarshie is said to have banked his hopes on his association with the Western Region branch of the NPP to work the magic for him
