9,160 new coronavirus cases and 93 deaths registered in South Africa

South Africa's National Institute of Communicable Diseases reported 9,160 new infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 1 million,832,000 and 479 positive cases of COVID-19.

According to the source, with the 93 new deaths above, the total number of deaths in South Africa rose to 58 thousand and 795.

In the same period, the country performed 36 thousand and 858 tests, translating a positivity of 24.9%. The cumulative test since the beginning of the outbreak, in March 2020, is 12 million 586 thousand and 342.

The recoveries reached 1,656,000 and 680, representing a rate of 90.4% of people who got rid of the Coronavirus pandemic.

South Africa has 117 thousand and four active cases.

According to the National Institute of Public Health, 341 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital units on Monday, June 21.

Of a total of 9,503 patients, 6,267 are hospitalized in private institutions, while 3,236 receive treatment in public units.

So far, two million 144,000 and 204 people have been vaccinated in South African territory, while three million 656,000 and 516 others have been registered through the Electronic Vaccination System to receive the inoculation.
