Angola reports 215 recovered and 176 new cases of coronavirus

Health authorities reported this Thursday, August 12, the recovery of 215 patients and the registration of 176 new cases, and 7 deaths of coronavirus, in the last 24 hours.

According to the daily bulletin, among those recovered, 69 reside in Lunda Norte, 49 in Huambo, 41 in Moxico, 32 in Cunene, 8 in Huíla, 5 in Zaire, 4 in Lunda Sul, 4 in Namibe, 2 in Luanda, and 1 in Cuando Cubango.

According to data released, 62 new cases were registered in Huíla, 58 in Luanda, 14 in Zaire, 13 in Lunda Sul, 7 in Huambo, 4 in Benguela, 4 in Moxico, 4 in Namibe, 3 in Cuanza Sul, 3 in Cuando Cubango, 2 in Cuanza Sul, 2 in Lunda Norte, 1 in Bié and 1 in Cuanza Norte.

The list includes 124 male and 52 female patients, whose ages range from 1 to 93 years.

Deaths were registered in the provinces of Cunene, with 2, Lunda Sul, with 2, Bié with 1, 1 in Zaire, and Luanda with 1.

Laboratories processed 2,472 samples.

231 people are in institutional quarantine, while 146 patients receive treatment in the units and 694 contacts of positive cases are under epidemiological surveillance.

Angola currently has 44,174 positive cases, 1,070 deaths, 41,024 recovered patients and 2,080 active cases. Of the active, 12 are critical, 28 severe, 79 moderate, 27 mild, and 1,934 asymptomatic.
