In Mozambique, at least 10 people were killed and 63 injured during protests following the ruling Frelimo party's victory in the Oct. 9 elections.

A joint statement from medical associations reported 73 shooting incidents, while Human Rights Watch confirmed 11 deaths and noted many injuries went unreported.

Tensions escalated after an opposition lawyer was shot dead post-election.

Presidential candidate Venancio Mondlane plans to lead renewed protests starting Thursday, prompting residents to stock up on supplies.
