Michael Lomas, a British businessman and former contractor for South Africa's power utility Eskom, has been extradited from the UK to face 65 counts of corruption.

He is accused of accepting kickbacks on contracts between his company, Tubular Construction, and Eskom, linked to the Kusile power station project, valued at over 1.4 billion rand ($80 million).

Lomas, who fled to the UK after a previous arrest, arrived in Johannesburg under heavy police escort.

His case, alongside other co-accused, involves allegations of fraud, money laundering, and inflating project costs, contributing to Eskom's ongoing struggles.
