Cameroon's government has insisted that President Paul Biya, 91, is in "excellent" health following his long absence from public view, sparking speculation about his condition.

Biya has not been seen since September 8 and missed key events like the UN General Assembly.

Officials condemned rumors about his health and confirmed he is currently in Geneva, performing his duties.

Biya, who has been in power since 1982, is criticized for frequent overseas trips, particularly to Switzerland. The government stated he will return to Cameroon soon, dismissing health concerns as "pure fantasy."
