Brenda Biya, daughter of Cameroon's President Paul Biya, posted a photo on Instagram kissing Brazilian model Layyons Valença, generating mixed reactions in a country where same-sex relationships are illegal.

The post, accompanied by a love heart emoji, prompted both support and homophobic backlash.

Brenda, a musician living abroad, did not explicitly state her sexuality but shared an article suggesting she had "come out." Activists praised her for potentially advancing LGBTQ+ rights in Cameroon.

However, critics noted that anti-LGBT laws disproportionately affect the poor, while wealthier individuals might escape severe consequences. The Cameroonian government has not commented on the issue.
