Brenda, a musician living abroad, did not explicitly state her sexuality but shared an article suggesting she had "come out." Activists praised her for potentially advancing LGBTQ+ rights in Cameroon.

However, critics noted that anti-LGBT laws disproportionately affect the poor, while wealthier individuals might escape severe consequences. The Cameroonian government has not commented on the issue.
