Nomcebo Zuma, daughter of former South African president Jacob Zuma, is engaged to King Mswati III of Eswatini during the traditional Umhlanga reed dance.
At 21, she will become the king’s 16th wife.
The reed dance is a traditional rite of womanhood where young women sing and dance for the monarch.
King Mswati, who has ruled since 1986, has been criticized for his extravagant lifestyle while much of Eswatini's population lives in poverty.
The king, now 56, has a history of marrying much younger brides, with the most recent announcement echoing previous engagements made at the same ceremony.
