Kenyan farmer Jusper Machogu has become a prominent climate change denier on social media, promoting fossil fuels in Africa.
Known for his farming videos, Machogu’s denial of man-made climate change has gained him significant online attention and thousands of dollars in donations, including from Western fossil-fuel interests.
He claims his views are genuine and not influenced by these contributions. Despite scientific consensus on human-caused climate change, Machogu asserts it is natural and beneficial.
His stance aligns with some African leaders but is criticized for potentially undermining climate action in Africa, where low climate literacy could amplify his misleading messages.
