Kenyan human rights activist Boniface Mwangi has been detained by police on charges of inciting violence after being forcibly taken from his home by masked individuals.
His arrest follows his call for an anti-government protest during a marathon in Nairobi, where he urged participants to demand President William Ruto's resignation using hashtags like #RutoMustGo.
Mwangi's detention has sparked outrage among his supporters, who are calling for his release. His wife reported that he was arrested at dawn, and police later confirmed his custody.
Mwangi has a history of arrests linked to his activism against rising living costs and police brutality in Kenya.
