Nigeria has charged 76 people, including 30 minors, with treason and inciting a military coup following August protests against economic hardship, as court documents revealed.
Demonstrations erupted in Abuja, Lagos, and other cities over inflation and economic reforms under President Bola Tinubu, which have worsened living conditions.
Amnesty International reported 13 protest-related deaths during clashes with security forces.
The minors, detained since August, have now been granted bail, with a trial set for January. Nigerians face a deepening cost-of-living crisis, worsened by insecurity and kidnappings in the north.
