Nigerians in Ghana congratulate president-elect Tinubu, call for peace and unity

The Acting President of All Nigerian Community in Ghana, Chief (Dr) Bayo Albert Asaolu has joined others to Congratulate Nigeria's President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President-Elect Senator Kashim Shettima.

Asaolu said he was glad and excited that the election ended well saying, the hullabaloo before the election raised serious concerns. However, the way and manner by which Nigerians comported themselves demonstrated their love for the peace of the country.

He said the official pronouncement by the country's electoral umpire - INEC, was a welcome development and in his opinion reflected the mandate of the electorates.

The Acting President also commended the Electoral Commission and its Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu for standing by the choice of the people. He said he was in his hometown, Ilesha, Osun state, Nigeria to witness the election which he said was very calm and peaceful.

He, however, called on all the oppositions to accept the verdict of the people in the interest of all the citizens of Nigeria. "Nigeria remains the giant of Africa and any challenge facing Nigeria will have an effect on the continent of Africa and the world at large. He appealed to the opposition to see the election as a race that will always produce a winner.

He also used the medium to call on Nigerians living in Ghana to remain calm and law-abiding.

Asaolu concluded by challenging the President-Elect to ensure he delivers his promises to Nigerians saying, the issue of irregular power supply and security challenge should be key in his programs to the nation. He also advised that Nigerians living in foreign countries should be adequately given priority in government policies.
