South African man arrested for distributing porn superimposed with president’s face

The South African authorities have announced that they have arrested a man who allegedly shared and distributed pornographic materials with the faces of President Cyril Ramaphosa, Police Minister Bheki Cele and Cele’s wife superimposed on them.

The 34-year-old man will appear in court in Pretoria on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, on the charges of contravening the Cyber Crimes Act, which relates to unlawfully accessing or processing computer data.

Pornography is not illegal in South Africa but its distribution is restricted.
