Azonto didn’t exit prematurely, it evolved – Bisa Kdei

Ghanaian highlife musician Bisa Kdei has discussed the evolution of Azonto and Highlife music.

He argued that Azonto didn’t disappear but evolved and was rebranded, similar to Highlife now being labeled as Afrobeat.

Kdei urged a focus on preserving indigenous genres and resisting trends.
