I can act - says Kofi

It was not surprising that Kofi, winner of TV3’s The Battle, who has been touted as the perfect imitator, added glitter to his showmanship during the reality show.

The youngman, who is otherwise known as Francis Kofi Blewusi Dzedi, from Anlo in the Volta Region, has disclosed that beyond his talent of singing he also had the gift of acting. That, he indicated, explains his gigs during the show, which won the hearts of most music enthusiasts.

“I can also act very well, that is why in most of my performances I put some dramatic arts into them,” he said in an exclusive interview with Beatwaves last week when he and Paa, another contestant in Mentor 3 and The Battle visited the offices of DAILY GUIDE.

It would be recalled that Kofi, who is a product of O’Reilly Secondary School, always got his fans on their feet singing along with him and always shook TV3’s studio B.

During the final event of The Battle at TV3’s studio B, his rendition of Lucky Dube’s ‘Different Colours’ coupled with other performances were clear indications that he could excel in acting.

Currently, he is waiting to embark on his trip to Malaysia as part of his prize package. He revealed that his debut album is ‘cooking’.

However, he did not mention exactly when it would be ready for his numerous fans to patronise.

“When you are working with God you don’t give promises but allow God to operate. Ghanaians should hold on for the best and pray for me.”

According to Kofi, he owed his utmost appreciation to God, who he said made it possible for him to win The Battle.

“It was God who did everything. Without Him, you wouldn’t have seen Kofi on that stage,” he indicated.

He as well extended his profound gratitude to TV3, tiGo, Kasapreko, TT Brothers and all other sponsors of The Battle. He thanked all the judges of the show also and Sani Helwani of the Mastermix Band as well as all churches in Ghana.

Kofi is still enjoying his reign and is expected to throw a party on February 15, this year, to celebrate with his fans. Beatwaves will be there to feed you with all the exciting news from the party.
