Ghanaian Fiction from the 1970s
From back cover:

About the story:

"Baako, a television scriptwriter, wants to produce, to be a maker for and of this country; he finds he is expected merely to be a provider for his family. Society reflects his work, and his family's disappointment heaps guilt upon him. His fight for sanity is a lonely one, with few allies...It is a novel of high and consistent artistry."
- Prof Molly Mahood, 'Saturday Review'
