Carl F. Richards, President of the Stanford Seed Transformation Network (SSTN), urged African businesses to adopt AI as a critical tool to overcome traditional growth challenges and achieve global competitiveness.
Speaking at the 2024 SSTN Business Conference themed "Smart Africa – Leapfrogging the Conventional in Transforming Business with AI," Richards emphasized AI's role as a transformative force that simplifies operations, enhances production, and personalizes customer interactions.
This shift allows even small and medium enterprises to scale efficiently, addressing past barriers like infrastructure and market access.
Keynote speaker Moses Kwesi Baiden echoed this, highlighting AI's dual impact of job displacement and the creation of high-tech roles, underlining the need for workforce upskilling.
The conference, attended by over 100 business leaders, also featured speakers like Dr. Stephane Nwolley and Claud Hutchful, who discussed strategies to harness AI for growth.
