At the GMA-DMA Green Shipping Workshop in Accra, Jacob Haugaard of the Danish Maritime Authority (DMA) encouraged Ghana to create a roadmap for decarbonizing its maritime sector to meet net-zero emissions by 2030.
Denmark pledged ongoing support, highlighting initiatives like training Ghanaian pilots, developing e-navigation platforms, and hosting green technology study trips for Ghanaians.
Director Nana Kwabena Boakye-Boampong of the GMA underscored the need for green technologies, clean fuel adoption, and international collaboration to achieve sustainable maritime growth.
This workshop is part of the GMA-DMA Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC), funded by Danish international aid.
