Dog meat sellers at Accra's Konkomba market are troubled by rising costs affecting their businesses.
Prices for live dogs have surged from GH₵80 to GH₵400-500, impacting sales as sellers pass the cost to consumers.
Seller Bliangi Nlibi Kofi attributed the increase to economic hardships.
Despite this, the meat remains popular, with even some MPs and ministers among the buyers.
Consumers, particularly from the Frafra, Dagaare, Konkomba, and other tribes, continue to favor dog meat for its taste, and its popularity is spreading to other regions.
