ECG enhances PowerApp to address billing challenges

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has launched a digital platform and enhanced PowerApp to improve its billing system and streamline electricity consumption data collection.

By implementing advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), ECG aims to reduce human errors and enhance billing accuracy. The PowerApp allows postpaid customers to submit meter readings and receive accurate bills.

ECG officials equipped with POS devices can verify readings and generate instant bills. This initiative promotes transparency, encourages customer participation in managing electricity usage, and is part of ECG's efforts to enhance operational efficiency and reduce system losses.
