Several Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in Ghana have raised petroleum prices, with Allied Oil leading the increase on October 16, 2024, selling petrol at GH₵12.73 and diesel at GH₵13.73.
Shell has priced petrol at GH₵14.72 and diesel at GH₵14.99, reflecting a 7% and 4.45% increase, respectively. Goil also increased petrol to GH₵14.49 and diesel to GH₵14.90, while Star Oil's prices rose to GH₵13.99 for petrol and GH₵14.19 for diesel.
OMCs cite rising international crude oil prices and the depreciating cedi as reasons for the adjustments, although recent drops in crude prices may stabilize future costs.
