Fitch Solutions revealed that Ghana ranked 4th in Sub-Saharan Africa for digital bank account growth, with a rise of over 40% between 2011 and 2022. However, this increase is low compared to global peers.
Mauritius, South Africa, and Kenya topped the list. The report highlights Sub-Saharan Africa's lag in traditional banking but leadership in digital banking, driven by mobile phone proliferation, better internet access, and regulatory support.
