Ghana’s rich culture showcased at 2nd edition of Made in Ghana Fair

It was all colorful and captivating at the 2nd edition of the Made in Ghana Fair as exhibitors showcased their various local artifacts and products at the forecourt of the Nungua junction mall in Accra.

Aimed at promoting and encouraging the use of Made in Ghana products and services, the fair assembled exhibitors with products ranging from original hand woven clothes (Kente and smocks), local wooden-crafted frames, artworks, African print dresses, local shoes and bags to locally made drinks and herbal products.

Some Patrons of the fair who spoke to Ghanaweb expressed pleasure while emphasizing the importance of such events in promoting local artifacts globally.

“I’ve seen some really unique products….funiture and wonderful products, not just Ghanaian-made clothes but Ghanaian-innovated fabrics that have been put in a different style”, one patron said.

Another, a foreigner said, “I’m from the U.S and I don’t see all of these African culture and I want to just embrace that today….wood carvings, it’s very interesting the wood carvings here, they are very unique, I’ve never seen anything like that in my life, I find that very interesting”.

Campaign Ambassador for the event, Akumaa Mama Zimbi also lauded government and the Trade Ministry for providing such a platform for growing companies to make revenue as well as an opportunity for Ghanaian products to be acknowledged and upheld.



“We are grateful to God that the Ministry took it upon itself to launch this initiative. The first edition at the Osu Oxford street was great and based on that, this one was also organized and we can confidently say this second edition is also not bad, the exhibitors are very happy about it. The exhibitors at the second edition especially did a fabulous job branding their works, the finishing is good”.

The second edition of the Made in Ghana Trade Fair is commenced today, July 29 and will continue till the 2nd of July 2018. The event among other things is aimed at creating awareness among the populace on the need to patronize locally manufactured products in the country.

It’s a laudable means of exporting Ghana to the international community and ‘selling’ Ghana’s rich culture to the rest of the world.
