The Ghana Pay platform has seen a substantial increase in subscribers and transactions, rising from 40,000 cedis in 2022 to 2.5 million cedis.
New services include bill payments, crowdfunding, corporate bulk payments, sponsored wallets, and automated recurring payments.
Head of GhanaPay, Samuel Darko, highlighted efforts to promote financial inclusion, noting a rise from 20,000 subscribers at launch to nearly one million.
Archie Hesse, CEO of Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems, emphasized the progress towards a cashless society, noting significant advancements in electronic payment adoption over the past decade.
