Government to launch 5G services today

Ghana will launch its 5G high-speed internet service today, November 1, 2024, at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel. President Akufo-Addo will make the announcement.

The 5G technology promises faster upload/download speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connections, enhancing internet access for healthcare, education, and finance services.

The government partnered with seven industry players, including Ascend Digital, Nokia, and Telecel Ghana, to create a shared 5G infrastructure aimed at making high-speed broadband affordable.

This initiative is led by the new Infrastructure Company, Next Gen InfraCo NGIC.
