IFC signs $25m agreement with Société Générale to support women in SME

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Société Générale have signed a $25 million loan agreement on June 26, 2024, to support women-led Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana.

This partnership is part of IFC’s $1 billion Base of the Pyramid Platform, which provides funding to small businesses, informal enterprises, and low-income households affected by COVID-19 and economic challenges.

IFC’s Senior Country Manager, Kyle Kelhofer, emphasized the partnership's focus on sustainable finance for women entrepreneurs.

Société Générale's Managing Director, Hakim Ouzzani, highlighted the initiative's goal to promote gender equality and support resilient recovery in Ghana’s banking sector.
