“Technology is impacting every area of our lives and forcing us to rethink old systems and innovate daily. Building strong entrepreneurial skills through the use of a digital channel like Forbes8 will position Ghanaians to take advantage of the opportunities provided” he said.

Vincent Sowah Odotei added that his ministry is deploying the use of internet and mobile technologies for efficient delivery of public and private sector services, therefore, it is very exciting for Forbes to choose Ghana as their first country in Africa to introduce this game changer to inspire Ghanaians for better economic gains.

This, he believes will provide an opportunity to accelerate inclusive growth across the region. Mobile technology contribution to Africa’s GDP is expected to rise to $142 billion which is equivalent to 8.6% of GDP by 2020 and Ghana as a country must reap the rewards of the digital revolution.

“In order to fully reap the benefits of the digital economy for Ghana, we need to effectually pool resources. This digital app offers an excellent opportunity for innovators, technical experts, business start-ups and all other great minds to launch and grow in their business” he stressed.



The Minister reiterated that his ministry is working to address the risks and challenges the digital landscape presents including cybersecurity and privacy.

“We stand ready to work with Forbes and other organisations to implement solutions to any emerging challenges. In recent times our country has implemented far-reaching measures to reduce the menace of cyber fraud and it is succeeding,” he stated.
