Mobile Money accounts surpass GH¢65m, transactions exceeding GH¢1.9tn – BoG

The 2023 FinTech Sector Report by the Bank of Ghana highlights significant growth in Ghana’s digital financial landscape, with mobile money accounts exceeding 65 million and transactions surpassing GH¢1.9 trillion.

This growth underscores the increasing adoption of mobile financial services, particularly in rural areas. The report emphasizes the role of Rural and Community Banks (RCBs) in driving financial inclusion, urging them to leverage digital solutions to meet local needs.

The Bank of Ghana also promotes initiatives like Ghanapay to enhance service delivery and advocates for tailored financial products to address rural communities' unique challenges.
