Phillipe Vlaemminck, Legal Advisor to the European Lotteries, has urged governments to abolish taxes on lottery winnings, arguing it deters participation and reduces revenue for lottery operators contributing to good causes.

Speaking at a National Lottery Authority (NLA) training session in Ghana, Vlaemminck emphasized responsible gaming practices, combating illegal lotteries, and the adverse effects of taxing winnings.

The training, led by Vlaemminck and Beata Guzik, covered various topics, including responsible gaming and global lottery trends.

NLA Director-General Samuel Awuku highlighted the importance of such training for improving operations and ethical practices within the lottery industry.
