Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Alex Ampaabeng has announced that the government will not introduce new taxes in the upcoming mid-year budget.
Stakeholders have been calling for the elimination of some taxes to ease the financial burden on businesses and households.
While no new taxes will be added, the government plans to explore other avenues to increase revenue, including improving efficiency and addressing loopholes in the tax system.
The mid-year budget review will be presented to Parliament in July or August.
