Papa Kwesi Ndoum, founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), announced plans for a rally in Elmina, Central Region, to advocate for the revival of his former bank, GN Bank, which collapsed amid Ghana’s banking sector reforms in 2017.
Scheduled for the last week of November 2024, the “Bring Back GN Bank” rally aims to gather public support against what Ndoum describes as an unnecessary and harmful closure of the bank.
He voiced concerns over the economic impact, highlighting that 70,000 jobs connected to Group Ndoum were affected by the bank’s closure.
Ndoum frequently addresses economic issues and advocates for job creation and good governance through his weekly Facebook broadcasts, where he recently titled his message “Disappointed but Not Discouraged.”
