The scarcity is attributed to low rainfall, transportation costs, and reliance on imports. Experts recommend a shift to irrigation-based farming and improved storage facilities to mitigate price fluctuations and post-harvest losses.

Despite the current challenges, a potential increase in supply is expected in June-July with the onset of the rainy season.
