Registered mobile money accounts in Ghana hit 68.2 million

Registered mobile money accounts in Ghana have reached 68.2 million in April 2024, up from 57.6 million in April 2023, showing significant growth.

Data from the Bank of Ghana highlights this increase: from 58.7 million in May 2023, the numbers rose monthly, hitting 65.6 million by December 2023. The upward trend continued in 2024, with accounts rising from 66.3 million in January to 68.2 million in April.

Active mobile money accounts also grew, from 21.1 million in April 2023 to 23.9 million in April 2024, reflecting steady monthly increases throughout the year.
