Registrar General Jemima Oware has issued a final ultimatum for over 500,000 companies to file their annual returns by the end of this month or face removal from the companies' register.
Despite multiple notices over two years, few firms have complied. In an interview with ChannelOne News, Oware stressed the serious consequences of non-compliance, including the inability to conduct business in Ghana.
Initially, 10,000 companies had not filed returns, and 2,203 were targeted for removal.
According to Oware, currently, 8,895 companies remain non-compliant and must update their records by June 30 to avoid being struck off the register starting July 1.
