The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications raised concerns about the increasing fiber cuts, with 5,133 incidents in the first half of 2024, costing GH¢118 million in repairs.
These cuts disrupt telecommunications services, causing outages and hindering digital progress.
In response, the Chamber launched the "Save Our Fibre" campaign, collaborating with road agencies, contractors, and utility companies to protect telecom infrastructure.
However, some entities continue to damage infrastructure, leading the Chamber to consider legal action and seek police and judiciary support to prosecute offenders and prevent further incidents.
