Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam is optimistic about the IMF approving Ghana's $360 million third tranche funding after achieving a milestone in debt restructuring with bilateral creditors.
An agreement on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Official Creditor Committee sets the stage for the IMF's review of Ghana's economic performance under a 3-year support program.
Dr. Amin Adam assured that Ghana has met all criteria for IMF approval, emphasizing confidence in a smooth process ahead.
The IMF Executive Board is expected to review and potentially approve the tranche by June 2024, facilitating economic recovery through the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) programme.
