The Chamber of Independent Power Generators Ghana (IPGGs) is alarmed by delays in government approvals for Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) restructuring documents.
In a statement signed by Chairman Togbe Afede XIV, they expressed urgency for a meeting with Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, warning that further delays could jeopardize the country’s power supply stability.
The IPGGs, who previously accepted debt restructuring terms, are frustrated by the Electricity Company of Ghana's $1.4 billion default and may withdraw from negotiations, potentially disrupting electricity supply beyond August 30, 2024.
