Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Ghana's Minister for Food and Agriculture, projects food prices will drop by over 50% in the coming months due to government measures aimed at improving food production and supporting farmers affected by a recent dry spell.
He announced the supply of 200,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer and an $80 million investment in agricultural inputs.
Additionally, interest-free loans totaling GH₵50 million will be provided to commercial farmers affected by the dry spell, channelled through the Agricultural Development Bank.
Dr. Acheampong assured that the future of food supply in Ghana looks promising despite challenges.
