Some customers of Midland Savings and Loans Company Limited have said they will still save with the financial institution despite the glitches the company has been facing in the past few weeks.
The customers returned to the Shiashie branch of the Midland Savings and Loans today after they were assured of getting their monies by the Customer Service Manager, Albert Ransford Nyarko.

This sparked anger in many Ghanaians including customers of the savings company who described the incident as outrageous and unfortunate.
There were also speculations that the company would close down due to liquidity crunch hence the rush to withdraw savings by customers.
Management has, however denied the assertions, explaining that the company had some challenges with transaction following a break in network transmission from July 17, 2018 until the evening of June 19.
Deputy Managing Director of Midland, Isaac Mensah revealed that the back-up system got very slow during the period, making it impossible to facilitate transactions as quickly as possible for customers.
A customer who spoke to www.ghanaweb.com said although she anticipated confusion like the way it happened yesterday, she was happy there was more peace and quiet at the premises.
She added she will still save with the financial institution despite her inability to withdraw her money.
“As humans, we are prone to mistakes daily. So I think we should give them a second chance. For me although I did not get my money, I will still save with them since I have been given the assurance that the bank is not closing down,” she said.
A trader who saves with the institution operating for over 20 years now, said this is the first time such and incidence has occurred so the company should be spared the backlash.
“We have been saving with them for a very long time. It’s rather unfortunate this incident happened. But if it occurs again, we won’t work with them again,” he stated.
But a client, who disclosed this was the second time he has been a victim of ‘misappropriation’ by a micro finance company vowed never to save with a savings and loans company.
He said, “This is my end with any savings and loans company. The first time was with DKM. I would rather send my money to the bank where I think my money will be secured.”
