The World Bank’s Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP), a $218.7 million initiative, will extend its operations until 2025 to support 10,000 underperforming primary schools, primarily in rural areas.
Launched in 2019, GALOP addresses Ghana’s out-of-school challenges, enhancing enrollment, learning outcomes, and local school maintenance. The project promotes community involvement, empowering local stakeholders to manage minor repairs and infrastructure.
Complementing GALOP, a $150 million transport project will improve rural access and economic opportunities by 2025, addressing obstacles such as long commutes and unsafe routes to school for students in remote areas.
