6 arrested in connection with lynching of prison officer in Kasoa

Six suspects, including four females and two males, have been arrested in connection with the lynching of Lance Corporal Gideon Adu Boakye, a prison officer from Nsawam Medium Security Prison.

The incident occurred on September 29, 2024, at Kasoa Iron City, where Adu Boakye was visiting relatives.

The Ghana Prisons Service, working with the police, condemned the act of "instant justice" and urged the public to report suspicious activities rather than take the law into their own hands.

The Service vowed to ensure justice and offered condolences to the officer's family.
