A/R: 13 alleged galamseyers remanded for mining in Jimmirah Forest Reserve

The Nkawie Circuit Court has remanded 13 alleged illegal miners for unlawfully mining in the Jimmirah Forest Reserve at Amangoase, Ashanti Region.

The forest reserve is under afforestation by a private developer.

The miners' activities have disrupted these efforts. Local residents collaborated with Forestry Commission officers to arrest the miners.

They are now in police custody and will reappear in court on August 6, 2024.
