ADB Board Chairman Kwahumanhene resigns following extortion allegations

Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II has resigned as Board Chairman of ADB Bank amid extortion allegations from customer Collins Darkwa.

Following an emergency board meeting, Agyapong stepped down to protect the bank's interests.

Darkwa alleged that Agyapong demanded GH₵50,000 upfront and additional funds in exchange for a GH₵12 million loan, threatening to sabotage his business if he did not comply.

His resignation is seen as a move to uphold good corporate governance at ADB Bank, which has a reputation for excellence in banking and social responsibility.
