Tensions flared in the Wasa Amenfi West District on Sunday, November 17, 2024, when a group of men, allegedly posing as National Security officers, raided a local casino.

Arriving in two V8 vehicles and a Stanbic bus, they accused Chinese nationals and Ghanaians of money laundering.

Eyewitnesses described the men as wearing gangster-like attire and harassing employees and patrons, confiscating phones, money, and firing shots into the air.

Investigation revealed the group had no official ties to security agencies.

The police intervened, detaining some suspects and launching a probe into the misuse of power.
