Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ambulance case, has filed a court application to dismiss the charges against him or to stay the proceedings.
Jakpa alleged that Attorney-General Godfred Dame assured him of his innocence and said his inclusion in the trial was a façade.
He claimed Dame initiated the prosecution under pressure from President Akufo-Addo and Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to target Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
Jakpa seeks to testify on these claims and be cross-examined.
His lawyers are requesting the court to either strike out the charges or stay the proceedings.
