Another one of the seven detainees who broke out of Kwabenya Police Station late in January has been apprehended by the Ghana Police Service, in the Eastern Region.
Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, revealed that the suspect was apprehended in a community in the Asuogyaman District, in the Eastern Region following a tip-off.
According to a recent report by Mynewsgh.com, the suspect, identified as Emmanuel Kotey, has since been handed over to police in the Greater Accra Region.
The arrest of Emmanuel Kotey, aged 21, brings the number of escapees in custody up to two, including the previous arrest of Kofi Darko, also aged 21.
Nevertheless, five more individuals allegedly involved in the Kwabenya jailbreak are still at large, namely Atta Kwadwo aged 20, Chubuzor Akwabu aged 34, Dickson Ofori aged 24, Prince Osei aged 21, and Edem Rockson aged 32.
ASP Ebenezer Tetteh went on to call for more collaborations between various communities and the police, adding that this arrest was made thanks to the fact that the police comunities workd together.
