Five individuals have petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah for allegedly acquiring assets disproportionate to her income.

The petitioners include Mensah Thompson, Al-Hassan Kwadwo Baidoo, Bernard Mornah, Ransford Antwi, and Joyce Atitso. Dapaah resigned in July 2023 following a theft report from her home, which revealed substantial amounts of money and luxury items.

She was later arrested, with over GH¢48 million discovered in her accounts. The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) eventually dropped charges due to insufficient evidence, transferring the case to EOCO.

The petitioners urge CHRAJ to scrutinize Dapaah’s assets, as she failed to provide satisfactory explanations during the OSP investigation.
