Caretaker shot dead in Savannah region

Mahama Korana, the caretaker of Lukula in the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region, has been shot and killed by unknown assailants.

Appointed by the Paramount Chief of the Wasipe traditional area, Anyame Kabasagya, Korana was found dead in his room, lying in a pool of blood.

Residents of Daboya-Mankarigu, now in shock and mourning, believe he was targeted and followed before being killed.

The body has been taken to Tamale Teaching Hospital for an autopsy, and investigations are ongoing to find the perpetrators.
